Moreton Bay United coach Adam Piddick has again raised the bar for the league-leaders ahead of Redlands United’s visit to Wolter Park on Saturday night.

Jets fell to their first defeat of the season against Olympic FC a fortnight ago and Piddick knows improvement is needed to avoid a repeat against the in-form Red Devils.

“We’re at the premiership part of the season now. Time to be at our best,” Piddick said.

“It’s the second half of the season, we need to step up 10 to 15 per cent. Opponents are more tactically aware of what we’re doing now.

“Everyone wants to knock us off and all have plans to try and stop us.”

Jets have racked up eight wins to sit two points and a match clear of second-placed Brisbane Strikers, but have needed to come from behind on several occasions in recent weeks.

Piddick is hoping his side makes the task of retaining their perfect home record easier on themselves.

“I don’t think we’ve been as clinical taking our chances as we were in the first six weeks,” he said.

“It’s not complacency or intentionally not doing things. We may just have thought things would fall to us.

“We’ve been working to put that right and recapture the form which got us in to this position.”

Central defender Alex Henderson returns to a full squad for the Round 13 fixture after recovering an ankle injury sustained in the 4-2 friendly win over Papua New Guinea U23s.

However, midfielder Jonathan Marraiya has joined Trophy Superstore Premier League side Peninsula Power in search of more game time.

Piddick said he was always looking to strengthen if the right player became available, but was also “quite happy” to stick with his current squad.
