Borrello Up For NAB Young Footballer

Former PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland player Brandon Borrello is one of five contenders for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year to be announced at tonight’s Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League 2014/15 Awards.
Borrello, nominated in March, starred for Brisbane Roar Youth with four goals in the first half of 2014 before cementing his place at Hyundai A-League level over the summer.
In addition to a breakout season domestically, Borrello also made his mark in Asia this term with two goals from six matches in the AFC Champions League.
The 19-year-old is nominated alongside James Jeggo (Adelaide United), Jamie Maclaren (Perth Glory) and Socceroos pair Terry Antonis (Sydney FC) and Tomi Juric (Western Sydney Wanderers).
The graduation of PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland products to the national top tier continued in 2014/15 with fellow Young Roar talents Lachlan Jackson, Shannon Brady, Abrahim Yango and Luke Pavlou all debuting, while former Northern Fury forward Braedyn Crowley made his first appearance for Newcastle Jets in February.
The winner of the NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014/15 Award will be announced tonight in Sydney, along with other Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League awards including the Johnny Warren Medal and Julie Dolan Medal.
