Kaine Frew scored twice as Sunshine Coast FC opened their pre-season with a comfortable 5-1 win over Maroochydore FC in the Macron Cup at A.J. Kelly Park on Saturday.

Crios O’Hare, Andy Harrison and an own goal added to Frew's haul to round out the scoring for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland club against their Sunshine Coast Football McDonald's Premier League opposition.

Formerly with FNQ FC Heat, triallist O’Hare converted the opener from the penalty spot after being felled in the box.

Fire netted two more in quick time on the half-hour to take a three goal advantage into the break, however the lead could've been extended further had Reyze Kelly converted his 34th minute penalty attempt, which sailed over the crossbar.

Swans pulled a goal back prior to the hour when John Harth's strike deflected to wrong foot Fire goalkeeper Dale Hill before Fire responded with two late goals to round out the result.

Brady Cronk's strike took a deflection with two minutes remaining in regular time before Frew delivered a tap-in during time added on.

Fire continue their pre-season on Tuesday night against Macron Cup hosts Peninsula Power.

Sunshine Coast FC  5 (Crios O’HARE 16’p, Kaine FREW 30’ 90+3’, Andy HARRISON 29’, own goal 88’)
Maroochydore FC  1 (John HARTH 55’)
