Kelly Jenks and Brooke Barbuto both notched braces as Peninsula Power Women eased to a 6-0 win over Western Pride Women at Briggs Road Sporting Complex on Sunday evening.

The visitors scored four times in a dominant first half hour to set up their ninth straight victory before Jenks and Ashley Doyle added late polish.

Having raced to an early 2-0 lead, Power put the result beyond doubt by half-time through Barbuto’s quickfire double.

Pride steadied prior to the break and managed to keep the away side shackled until the final 10 minutes when Jenks grabbed her second and Doyle capped proceedings with a stunning sixth.

Power can make it 10 on the trot when they host Brisbane Olympic Women on Wednesday night, while Pride will hope to register their first points away to Olympic next Saturday.

Key Moments

8’ – GOAL FOR POWER – Jenny Chiu slices through Pride’s midfield and cleverly picks out Vicky Lines, who steps inside and curls a fine left-footed finish beyond an outstretched Kirsten Veeren.

16’ – GOAL FOR POWER – Kelly Jenks is first to a direct ball forward and the striker coolly dinks her finish home from the edge of the area.

24’ – GOAL FOR POWER – Brooke Barbuto peels away from the back four, dribbles into the area and fires low and hard into the bottom far corner.

27’ – GOAL FOR POWER – Barbuto skilfully loses her marker with a roll over and finishes clinically inside the near post.

52’ – CHANCE FOR POWER – Veeren does well to block Barbuto’s close-range rocket.

67’ – CHANCE FOR POWER – Jenks heads home a curling Chiu cross but it’s ruled out for offside.

81’ – GOAL FOR POWER – Jenks is on hand to tap home after Vereen keeps out Chiu’s initial low effort.

86’ – GOAL FOR POWER – The Pride defence can only clear as far as Ashley Doyle, who takes a touch before unleashing an absolute bullet into the top left corner.
