Four goals from Ramone Close has lifted Olympic FC to a thumping 6-0 win over Redlands United on Saturday night.

The result consolidates Olympic's place in the top three, whilst compounding Redlands' woes after a mid-week FFA Cup exit.

Close got the scoring underway for the home side after just seven minutes before Daniel Byrne doubled the lead four minutes later.

Byrne had a brace shortly after the half-hour mark as Olympic took a strangehold on the contest, leading by three at the break.

The dominance continued after the break and it took only until the 51st minute for Close to find the net again, and only five minutes after extending his side's lead to four goals, he polished off his hat-trick before adding another in the 77th minute.

The Red Devils now languish towards the foot of the ladder and face fellow strugglers Sunshine Coast FC next round. Olympic will be strong favourites for another three points at home to Western Pride.
