PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland’s brightest young talents will again get the chance to shine against Brisbane Roar’s Hyundai A-League team, it has been confirmed.

A PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 Select team will line-up against the Roar in September at Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre as part of their pre-season preparations.

The fixture marks the second year Roar have sought a match against Queensland’s stand-out prospects in the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues – which serves as Football Federation Australia’s talented player pathway.

The fixture is a joint initiative of Brisbane Roar and Football Queensland with the aim of providing opportunities for promising young players to display their wares against Queensland sole Hyundai A-League club.

Last year’s match proved an overwhelming success with PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland product Harrison Sawyer (Western Pride) soon joining Brisbane Roar Youth for the Foxtel National Youth League season and Christian Trovato (Redlands United) identified by Sydney FC Youth.

The PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under 23 Select team will comprise 18 players selected by a technical panel from Football Queensland in conjunction with Roar.

Gold Coast City coach Grae Piddick has been charged with leading the team after assisting last year's inaugural squad.

Six shadow players will be identified in addition to the 18 player squad for the Select team as cover for injury and player unavailability.

Last year’s team was chosen on the basis of an online public vote. This process will return in a different guise to determine the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Supporters’ Team of the Year, as occurred in 2014.
