Rocky Road Trip For Heat In Cup

FNQ Heat will travel to Rockhampton-based community club Frenchville SC for a place in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 this Sunday, it has been confirmed.
The winner of the match will become the first Queensland club to advance to Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32, which sees the possibility of drawing a Hyundai A-League club.
Heat qualified for the Round 7 qualifying clash after defeating PlayStation® 4 National Premier Leagues rivals Northern Fury 1-0 in Townsville on Saturday.
The Cairns-based club qualified for last year’s inaugural Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32, where they were defeated 4-1 by New South Wales powerhouse Sydney United 58.
Heat have struggled for consistency in the league in 2015 and currently sit tenth in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.
Frenchville advanced to the seventh round of qualifying with a 1-0 win over Whitsunday FC in Airlie Beach on Saturday night.
Nicknamed ‘the Roos’, they currently sit fourth in the eight-team, third-tier Central Queensland Premier League - boasting four wins from their opening five matches.
Part of the larger Frenchville Sports Club, the team first played senior football in 1948 and have won 19 Wesley Hall Cups - one of the most prestigious tournaments in the Central Queensland football region.
