Olympic FC have eased to a comprehensive 8-0 win over UQFC at Lions FC Stadium in their opening BLK Silver Boot pre-season fixture on Tuesday.

The two-time PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Grand Finalists stunned their Brisbane Premier League opponents, effectively sealing the win with three goals inside the opening 15 minutes.

Danny Byrne commenced the scoring spree from the penalty spot only eight minutes into the contest, before Rhys Meredith and Michael Lee added two more in quick succession.

Chances proved scarce for UQFC before Costa Psaros converted a tap-in at the far post prior to the half hour and Matt Mundy rounded the goalkeeper to slot home for a five goal advantage at the break.

Second-half substitute Mustafa Jafari continued his promising pre-season form, delivering a back-post finish just after the hour before scoring his second ten minutes later.

The young striker completed his hat-trick on 83 minutes by heading home a cross from Byrne, taking his pre-season tally to five goals in three games.

Olympic continue their pre-season against another Brisbane Premier League side, Mitchelton FC, in the Macron Cup at Redcliffe this Saturday.
