Sunshine Coast FC have delivered some much needed Christmas cheer to the children of Nambour Hospital’s paediatric ward.

Fire collected more than 50 toys as part of Fire’s Christmas Toy Drive with the help of Wishlist and the generosity of the Sunshine Coast community.

Head coach Paul Arnison was joined by senior players Cameron Nairn and Kobe Fuller in delivering the toys to the hospital this morning.

“It was our way of giving back to the community that supports us and it’s good to bring some cheer to the kids who have to spend Christmas in hospital,” Arnison said.

“It was really good to go round and be able to talk to the parents and the kids, and they all really appreciated it,” he said.

Newly-promoted senior players Cameron Nairn and Kobe Fuller said that they felt privileged to have the opportunity to deliver the toys.

“It was great to be able to go in today and hand out the toys,” Nairn said.

“The best part was seeing their faces light up as they picked which toy they wanted, it was really special,” he said.

Fuller said that he feels for the parents who have to see their children spend the holidays in hospital.

“Even the parents got excited as we were going around, they enjoyed it as much as the kids,” he said.

“It feels really good to a part of making their Christmas special,” Fuller concluded.
