Redlands Goalkeeper Set For Debut

Redlands United will be looking to new goalkeeper Brendan White in their quest to start their season with a win against Brisbane Strikers at Perry Park tonight.

The 22 year old was announced this week as the Red Devils’ first choice custodian for the 2015 campaign.

White previously served as part of former Hyundai A-League club Gold Coast United’s youth team, and also earned an injury replacement contract with Brisbane Roar.

He most recently played for Football Brisbane Trophy Superstore Premier League team Logan Lightning.

Redlands Technical Director Matt Chandler said White had been on his radar for some time.

“He is one of the best goal keepers in Brisbane at the moment, possibly even the state,” Chandler said.

“He is still young and has the ability to mould himself into a long term prospect as a professional footballer.”

Chandler addedthat White’s attitude was noticeable in training and has earned him a spot in Redlands starting eleven.

“Brendan is usually the first one at training and the last one to leave. You can see he has a burning desire to play at the highest level and hopefully he can achieve that with us.”

White said he was excited by the opportunity to shine for his new club in his first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland season.

“Coming to Redlands means I can look to the next stage and compete in the National Premier Leagues. I’ve been competing in the BPL so the NPL is a new challenge,” he said.
