The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of combo guard Luca O’Brien for the 2022 NBL1 West season.

Luca has been a part of the NBL1 Men’s program since he was 15 years of age in 2019. This young wolf’s history with the club is a testament to his versatility, hard-working attitude, and willingness to play whatever role to help the team. Luca’s basketball IQ, ball skills, quickness and finishing ability are just a few of the many valuable assets he brings to the Wolves year in and year out. 

Wolfpack fans will want to keep an eye out for even more of Luca’s development throughout the season and Head Coach David Morrell tells us why:

“Luca is a Wolves junior that contributes greatly to the depth and competitiveness of our program. He is a really smart, competitive, unselfish young man and represents our culture and the defensive brand of basketball that we want Wolves to be about. It’s rare to have an 18-year-old with as much experience around senior programs as Luca has. It certainly helps him play beyond his years in terms of maturity. We believe his future is bright if he continues to work hard with us in his skill development.”

When asked about his return to the Wolfpack, Luca said,

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity the club and coaches have given me to play for the Wolfpack this season. I’ve grown up playing for the Wolves, so I feel very honoured to be representing the club as part of the NBL1 team. We have a great group of players and staff and I look forward to seeing how we perform for the 2022 season.”
