Last season’s League Golden Boot Madeleine Lee-Gow scored a hat-trick for the rampant Ducks, while Andrea Thornton, Hannah Gordon and Jacquie Denning contributed with singles apiece.

Following on from a slow start to the season, Kardinia College has shifted into top drive in recent weeks ascending to second spot on the ladder, following a thrilling 3-2 win over Barwon at the Kardinia International College on Saturday.

Sofia Harrop, Daisy Sanders and Annie Liddy-Corbet all scored singles for the Students, while Talia Moston and Ruby McCormack hit the back of the net for Barwon.

In the other Division One game, Drysdale endured a bit of a scare against bottom side Geelong SC, eventually running out 3-2 winners and jumping into third spot on the ladder. Nicole Carter bagged a double and Shannon Daffy scored the other goal for Drysdale, while Geelong SC failed to provide the scorers of its two goals.

Following the completion of Round 7, Deakin leads the competition with 19 points, a mammoth seven points clear of Kardinia in second spot, who are two points ahead of joint third placed Drysdale and Surfside Waves.

There are only two games in Women’s Division One this weekend, with Surfside hosting Drysdale at Shell Reserve on Friday night at 7:30pm and Kardinia hosting Deakin in a mouth watering top of the table clash at Kardinia College on Saturday at 1:00pm. Barwon and Geelong have a bye.
