THE exciting season ending Grand Final weekend is almost upon us with all the Geelong Region Men’s semi-final winners set to play on Sunday in their respective division’s Grand Finals at Myers Reserve in Bell Post Hill.

The showpiece Men’s Division 1 Grand Final will see the team which finished second on the table face the team which shocked the runaway league champions Geelong Rangers and denied them their sixth consecutive Grand Final appearance.

It is set to be an absorbing contest, as no one expected the 4th placed Surf Coast to overcome the rampaging league winners Rangers who went into last week’s semi-final clash the overwhelmingly, clear favorites.

This year’s Grand Final will be the first one since 2013 that Rangers won’t be participating.

In the Men’s Division 2 season finale, the top two teams Bell Park and FC Leopold will square off against each other.

Bell Park went through the entire season undefeated, while Leopold was defeated only twice this year.

Bell Park will not want their unbeaten run to end, but it will be a closely fought and tough encounter as both sides have enjoyed strong league campaigns.

Bellarine Sharks and Corio Bay will battle it out in the Men’s Division 3 grand final after both teams came away with strong victories in their respective semi-final match-ups.

Just two points separated the two sides at the end of the regular season, with Corio Bay finishing slightly ahead of Bellarine Sharks.

Finally, the Men’s Masters’ Grand Final will see Corio face off against Barwon Heads.

Of the four teams competing in the Over 35’s division, Corio finished first with 34 points while Barwon Heads finished the season eight points behind Corio in third spot.
