The emphasis is ALWAYS on fun and as such, we have included the Parents’ Code of Conduct below as a reminder of how we should lead by example for the sake of our littlies….

To all clubs, players, coaches, parents, friends and supporters we wish you all a very satisfying, enjoyable and fun filled 2018 ALDI MiniRoos’ season!

PARENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT:

The behaviour of players, their parents, spectators, officials and administrators is absolutely critical in ensuring that young players enjoy an appropriate environment in their formative years of playing football.

Bearing in mind that the whole philosophy of ALDI MiniRoos is based on replicating street football, where children play without adults and referees, the major focus should be on letting the children play with minimal instruction and plenty of encouragement.

Below are a series of Codes of Behaviour that all people involved in junior football, and in particular ALDI MiniRoos, must be aware of and abide by:

•   Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours;

• Encourage children to participate, do not force them;

•   Focus on your child’s efforts and performance rather than whether they win or lose;

•   Encourage children to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence;

•   Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition;

•   Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performance and skilful plays by all participants;

•   Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities;

• Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise;

•   Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators - without them, your child could not participate; and

•   Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
