NEWS: Vale Deakin Ducks player Emmanuel Oteng
DEAKIN Ducks FC is saddened to announce that its valuable clubman and popular teammate, Emmanuel Oteng, unexpectedly passed away early last Sunday morning.
According to a post by club coach Colin Raj on Deakin's official Facebook page, Emmanuel was a good man and liked by everybody he came across.
"It is a tragedy for everyone who knew him. Please keep his family, friends and spirit in your prayers," wrote Raj.
"The players will be wearing black armbands and observing a minutes silence before the preseason game on Friday evening. If any of you feel you want to pay your respects in a footballing manner feel free to come down and be a part of that. Kickoff is at 610pm at Myers Reserve, Bell Park.
"If anyone is struggling to process this news or just wants to talk about it, I urge you to and feel free to contact me personally or reach out to your other teammates or friends or seek out grief counselling. It is terrible news and it is hard to process so please reach out if you need to," concluded Colin Raj in his emotional post
