NEWS: FC Leopold receives front page coverage in the Bellarine Times!
IT’S not that often that a community football club gets front page coverage in a local newspaper - especially one that technically doesn’t exist. But that is exactly what has happened with the Geelong region’s newest club FC Leopold, which has been featured on the front page of the latest edition of the Bellarine Times.
According to the article (see attached image), from all accounts the fledgling Estuary Estate Reserve based club is looking to start its debut season in the 2017 GRFC competition with an almighty bang.
President Mitch Vials is quoted as saying in the article that FC Leopold is aiming to field at least two and possibly three Men’s senior teams as well as a Women’s team from the outset and multiple Junior teams from U7s (Miniroos) and upward.
In addition to the strong interest shown from potential players, Vials further revealed that two major sponsors had been secured – the local Leopold branch of the Bendigo Bank, as well as the renowned Leopold Sportsman’s Club.
Congratulations to the hardworking (and ambitious) committee at FC Leopold who are well and truly reaching for the stars in their formative phase of the club's existance.
