NEWS: Rangers aiming to field a Women's team in 2016

GEELONG Rangers Soccer Club is looking to relaunch its Senior Women's team in 2016 after several years of inactivity.

According to the recently elected president of the Bell Post Hill club, Kylie Chapman, the Dark Blues are looking for women and girls to play the sport in the 2016 GRFC season.

"We would love to have a Senior Women's team and possibly an U/11, U/14 and U/16 girls' squad heading in to the future. So if you love soccer and want to be a part of an amazing, community based club, we would love to hear from you," said Chapman, who is also the club's first ever female president,

It was ratified at a special GRFC Delegates' meeting on Monday night that - pending sufficient interest from member clubs - there would be a Girls' U11s, U14s and an U16s Junior league, as well as a Senior Women's Division One and a developmental Division Two league in the upcoming 2016 GRFC season.

Any women interested in playing for the Rangers in 2016, please contact Kylie Chapman on 0432 208 478 or Hayley Barker on 0419 866 578.
