Geelong's Young Rising Stars hitting the big time

Two Geelong youngsters have made the news with significant footballing achievements in their own rights. Geelong SC teenager Dylan Nikolovski has signed with Macedonian Premier League club FK Rabotnicki, while 12 year old North Geelong product Anthony Leban is among 14 FFV Skillaroos selected to train with the internationally acclaimed Real Madrid Technical Academy in Melbourne this weekend.

It's been hard work for 18 year old Nikolovski (pictured), who has now fully recovered from a serious shoulder injury last year.

Having played half of the current season with the Stead Park based Geelong SC in State League Two, the talented teen decided in June to travel over to Europe with his family to Macedonia, during which a trial was set up for him at leading Macedonian Premier League outfit, FK Rabotnicki, for 3 weeks.

Having impressed the club officials over there, Dylan's season with the reigning runners-up of the Macedonian league will start in a month.

Nikolovski's sudden rise to fame may well see the Geelong youngster feature in the UEFA Europa League this coming season, as his new club recently defeated Estonia's FC Flora Tallinn to progress to the next qualifying round of the prestigious continental tournament

Meanwhile, former North Geelong Warriors junior, Anthony Leban, has been selected along with 14 other FFV Skilleroos to train with the Victoria University Real Madrid Foundation Clinic in Melbourne on Saturday.

The session will be taken by Real Madrid club legends and current Technical Directors Emilio Butragueno and Ivan Garcia, who are in town for the ICC Tournament at the MCG.

A regular state representative in his age group, this will be a fantastic opportunity for young Leban to gain valuable experience being taught the intricacies of professional football with one of the world's biggest sporting institutions.
