31st ANNUAL JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. The Tournament will be conducted under B.V.C.C. rules except as modified below.
2. All players must be the age at December 31 2015.
3. Players may play in one team and one age group only on one day unless special exemption is granted by Tournament Committee.
4. Players must play in two preliminary round games to be eligible for finals
5. Team Statutory Declarations must be handed to Court Official PRIOR to team’s first game.
6. Each team must provide a COMPETENT ADULT SCORER.
7. Score Sheets will be outside the basketball office and must be filled in 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO SCHEDULED GAME TIME.
8. Late starts will be penalised as follows :
One point per minute late (or part thereof). If a team is more than five minutes late, the game will be awarded to the opposing team on forfeit. Score 10 to 0
9. Tournament Game Point Scoring as follows :
WIN : 3 pts DRAW : 2 pts LOSS : 1 pt FORFEIT : 0 pts.
In the event of teams finishing preliminary rounds on equal points
Finalists will be determined as follows :
(a) On result of the game between two teams concerned
(b) If it is a multiple tie, finalist(s) will be determined on percentages in games played between teams concerned.
10. Teams must supply their own warm up ball
11. ANY PLAYER SWINGING ON BASKETBALL RINGS OR NETS DURING WARM UP WILL BE BANNED FROM PLAYING IN THE TOURNAMENT
12. Any protest must be lodged, IN WRITING, with the Tournament
Organiser within THIRTY MINUTES of the game in which the incident giving rise to the protest occurred. The protest will then be dealt with by the Tournament Committee whose decision will be final.
13. Any player or team official reported by referees shall appear before the Tournament Tribunal and will not be allowed to play or be involved in any game until either cleared of the charge or until any penalty is served.
14. SIN BIN RULE WILL APPLY IN ALL GAMES
15. THREE POINT BASKETS WILL BE RECOGNISED IN ALL GRADES, EXCEPT IN UNDER 10 MATCHES
16. ANY TEAM WITHDRAWN AFTER OCTOBER 17 WILL FORFEIT ENTRY FEE
17. Timing Rules
Preliminary Games : Two X 16 Minute Halves
Half Time : 3 Minutes
One time out per half
(Clock does not stop for time outs)
(No time outs in last minute of first half)
Clock stops for all time outs, compulsory substitutions and all whistles in the last two minutes of second half only.
Drawn games will be recognised in Preliminary Rounds
Semi Finals : Same as preliminary games except extra time will be played if game is drawn.

Grand Finals : Two X 20 Minute Halves
Half Time : 3 Minutes
Two time outs per team per half.
Clock stops for all time outs and compulsory subs.
Clock stops for all whistles in last 2 minutes of second half only. (No time outs in last minute of first half)
Extra Time will be played in tied Finals consisting of 3 minutes in which clock stops for all time outs and compulsory subs and all whistles in the last 2 minutes until decision is reached. One time out per team in extra period.
