2017 John Martin Country Tournament
Bellinger Valley Braves 14Men attended the annual event of the “John Martin Country Tournament” in Gosford on the June long weekend. The boys played over the full 3 days with consecutive wins against Albury Cougars 48-23, Central Coast Waves 48-27 & Newcastle Hunters 64-13. These result then put them into the first Qualifying Final against Maitland Mustangs 53-22 which the boys made Semi Final against Newcastle Hunters 49-19 defeating both teams & advanced them directly to the grand final & winning against Bathurst Goldminers 56-17.
Their very proud coach Neil Gendle & Assistant Coach Simon Alexander couldn’t stop smiling from the boy’s huge achievement with exceptional ball skills, team work, smart plays & fierce defence.
Finn McIntyre was announced as the MVP with Billy Rigby sinking a half court buzzer beater shot was simply brilliant on top of bringing home the winning medals & going through undefeated is achievement by all.
