Deaf Basketball Australia Tryouts 2014

Dead Basketball Australia are now calling for expressions of interest from deaf and hard of hearing players who want to represent Australia on the world stage.

There are two international tournaments within a short space of time next year, the World Deaf Basketball Championships in July 2015, and the Asia Pacific Deaf Games in October 2015. Having these two tournaments close together is a great opportunity for successful players to play in the Green and Gold and represent their country with pride and distinction.

These two tournaments will act as a great springboard to playing at the peak deaf international sporting event, the Deaflympics. The next one is in 2017 in Turkey, and players selected for the national teams, the Goannas and the Geckos, will have a great opportunity to stake their claims for a spot in the teams to go to the Deaflympics in 2017.

To register your interest to try out for the national teams program, please download the EOI kit, complete it and email it to contact@deaf.basketball.net.au

The closing date for EOI's is Friday 23rd May 2014. This is so that DBA can inform interested players of the details for the try out camp, which will be held in Melbourne over one weekend in June 2014.

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
