Have you got a great idea for a program to build participation in your Footy club, but you ran out of time to put together an application for funding support?
Don't worry!
The deadline to submit your request for funding through the AFL Canada's Grant Program has been etended to June 15, 2019 so you have more time to put together that request.
Remember that there are 2 streams in which you can apply for funding:
1) New Club Grants: These are available to clubs in the first 3 years of operation and are in place to assist with some of the start up expenses related to building participation in a new community. Available funds range from $1000 for a club in their first year of operation, to $500 for a club in their 3rd year of operations.
2) General Grants: These grants are in place to support the development of programs and services intended to build participation in the sport of AFL in Canadian communities. It can be used to expand programming to a specific targetted population that is currently not fully participating (for example: starting a new junior league, expanding an existing women's league to include new teams, promotion of the sport in rural aboriginal communities, etc.)
Got your application already ready to submit? NO PROBLEM! Those that are sent in will be considered in our first round and decisions should be sent out prior to the June 15th deadline.
