Seeking Regional Supervisor Nominations

As per the constitution of S.A. Country Basketball Council Inc. nominations are called for the positions of Regional Supervisor in regions which currently have a vacancy or where the existing Regional Supervisor’s term of office expires this year.  Council Executive Terms attached.

Regions this year where the position is vacant or the incumbent’s term expires this year are:

  • Barrier - Representing Broken Hill
  • Southern Yorke Peninsula - Representing Adelaide Plains, Southern Yorke Peninsula & Yorke Valley
  • South East - Representing Mount Gambier, Millicent & Naracoorte

The Regional Supervisor gives your region a voice in the operation and future direction of the Council so it is in your best interests to find a nominee for your region to fill this important position. The Regional Supervisor’s term of office is for 3 years.

Regional Supervisor Position Description:

Role of the Regional Supervisor
The primary roles of a Regional Supervisor are:
to take part in the decision making process of the South Australian CountryBasketball Council on a basis of what is the best for the sport as a whole, and
to provide a means of communication between the Associations in theRegion and the SA Country Basketball Council.
Each Regional Supervisor is appointed for a period of three years.
As the role of a Regional Supervisor is voluntary, no compulsory demands are placed on the Supervisor but it is strongly expected that the Supervisor contribute as much as possible to the functions of SA Country Basketball Council.

It is anticipated that the Regional Supervisor:
attend three SA Country Basketball Council Executive meetings each year
be aware of the activities of all Associations in the region. If possible, visiteach Association once per year
report on Association activities at each Council Executive meeting
attend and act as Court Supervisor for the Country Championships
convene regional appeals tribunals as required
actively participate in activities of appointed sub committees of the CouncilExecutive; investigations, promotion, coaching & development, referees etc.
