In the men’s, the Roos will be desperate for a better defensive performance against the Cats in Millicent after giving up a whopping 133 to the Bulldogs last week! Player/Coach and Pioneers captain Tom Daly is starting to find fitness with 28 points last week, he’ll need every bit of that and more to help find a W against Kade Bradley, who notched up 25 last week and will be looking for another strong night particularly as he was able to scrounge up 36 against the Roos last time!

The Saints take on the Bulldogs in what might be a challenging night for them. The Bulldogs were highly impressive last week, the well-oiled offensive unit outscoring the Roos by 48. Duncan Reid is in hot form off the back of 36, whilst Matt Black contributed 32 as well. The Saints will be hoping for a big night from their two big men, Josh Murphy (20.4 PPG) and Harry Mules (16 PPG).

The MGP MATCH OF THE WEEK is second playing third in the Panthers taking on the Cougars. The De Wit trio, including Pioneers stud Kane de Wit, accounted for a combined 83 points last week!! Yes 83!! Zach de Wit on return from Adelaide showed off his improvement with a big 37. For the Panthers, Pioneers local stalwart Kyle Tipene (27.5) is the man to combat the three headed De wit monster, whilst back court buddies Brad Rathjen (15.75 PPG) and Ollie Thompson (14.67 PPG) will need to be on their game too to maintain their second place standing!

For the women the Bullroos coming off their first big win get to celebrate with a week off! The Panthers tackle the Saints who will be seeking revenge after dropping a game to the Bullroos. Brenna Mckay has enjoyed 2 good games back for the Panthers averaging a 28.5 PPG, forming a tough trio with electric Pioneers gun Joey Jones (15.75 PPG) and Alyssa Duncan (17.17) PPG). Watch out for a big game for the Saints super competitive talent Lacey Haines (19.5 PPG) to reverse her team’s fortunes!

In the MGP MATCH OF THE WEEK the Cougars battle the Cats, and good luck picking a winner here! The Cats sit atop of the ladder with 5 wins but the Cougars are right there behind them looking to usurp the Millicent side’s standing. Emily Dawe is elevating her play, now averaging 14.67 PPG, whilst Pioneers young gun Sophie Miles has been impressive with 15.6 PPG, aptly helped by Keryl Ousey (12.2 PPG) and Mikaela Horrigan (13.75 PPG). Georgia Winter leads the way for the Cats with 20.75 PPG, whilst Pioneers captain Jasmin Howe does whatever is needed to win on any given night averaging 10.75 PPG.

Tip – Cougars by 1 in double overtime
