Summer competition schedule change
In the best interests of BMG and its members, the competitions committee have revised the time slots for the summer 21/22 season. Key changes include moving games from Tenison Woods College back to the Icehouse, the home of basketball, and adjusting time slots to provide balanced and logical competition opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
BMG aims to provide a safe, progressive, and enjoyable environment for all passionate players in the South East. Whether it be an elite pathway, a social pathway, or something in between, BMG is working towards fostering a positive environemnt catering to all.
Registrations
Registrations are now OVERDUE. If you wish to play basketball in the summer competition, please register as soon as possible. For help registering contact admin@basketballmtgambier.com.au or 8723 2050.
Refereeing
There will be a strong focus on referee development and support. As such, BMG will be closely monitoring behaviour of ALL persons associated with our competitions. There will be a court supervisor at all times to support referee's and monitor behaviour. Any inappropriate behaviour must be reported to the court supervisor, who will be clearly visible and active within the stadium. BMG understands basketball is competitive and emotional, and we encourage both elements, however, for players, and particularly for coaches, inappropriate behaviour towards referees WILL NOT be tolerated.
We would love to bring new referees in to our association, and as mentioned we will develop and support those persons. If you're interested in refereeing, please contact bdm@basketballmtgambier.com.au or 0499 410 637.
Coaching
We have coaching spots available, if you're interested in joining our association as a coach, similar to refereeing, we're aiming to provide quality development and support to incoming coaches of any age or ability. For information on getting involved in coaching at junior or club level contact bdm@basketballmtgambier.com.au or 0499 410 637.
Coaches will require a current working with children police check, if you don't have the check BMG can help arrange one for you.
