MG PLASTERERS SECBL MEN

Panthers 89 (O Thomson 22, J Walker 17, J Ferguson-Lane 13) def Cougars 42 (T de Wit 25, D Kuring 8, S Holla 7)

The Panthers Men continued their winning ways from last week with another comprehensive win this time over the Cougars. Oli Thomson had 22 points which included six three pointers to lead the Panthers, Toby de Wit had a strong scoring game for the Cougars with 25 points, however the Cougars could not match the talent and depth of the Panthers.

 

Bulldogs Blue 95 (J Jenner 23, W Wright 17, D Hackwill 15) def Bulldogs Red 79 (Shaun Lock 30, M Black 16, M Hirlam 14)

Bulldogs Blue came away with a win in the all Bulldogs clash. The Blue team controlled the game from early in the first establishing a double figure lead that remained throughout the contest. A balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures was the secret to the Bulldogs Blue success, Shaun Lock had six three pointers on his way to 30 ppints for the Bulldogs red team.

 

Roos 89 (Malok Makuer 26, M Sutton 22, C Bachmann 17) def Cats 69 (K Bradley 25, F Bradley 13, C Schultz 12)

The Roos bounced back after a big loss to the Panthers to defeat the Cat. The game was tight for three quarters with the Roos struggling to break free from the enthusiastic Cats team. The Roos held on to a six point lead at the last break, Kade Bradley doing everything he could on both ends to give his Cats side a chance at victory. The Roos managed to string some defensive stops together and convert on the offensive pushing the lead to double figures and the result out of reach of the Cats. Kade Bradley had a big impact for his Cats side with 25 points, Malok Makuer shone for the Roos with 26 of his own.

 

MG PLASTERERS SECBL WOMEN

Cougars 54 (T Gray 14, K Ousey 12, M Russell 8) def Panthers 52 (S Loughhead 14, J Jones 8, N Facey 6, A Loughhead 6, T Bryant 6)

The Cougars hit the court for the first time this season and scrapped their way to a narrow victory over the Panthers. Both teams struggled to find their rhythm. The Cougars worked their way to an eight point lead at the final break behind the play of Tenille Gray and Keryl Ousey, a spirited fight back instigated by Sam Loughead gave the Panthers a chance a stealing victory however it was not enough.

 

Cats 67 (E Winter 30, G Winter 10, H Nitschke 10) def Bulldogs Roos 65 (E Brown 16, C Hunter 14, O Wormald 14)

Another close game in the women’s competition with the Bulldogs/Roos coming up short against the Cats in Millicent. Emily Winter stamped her authority on the game scoring at will and finishing 30 points. A balanced attack from inside and out from the Bulldogs/Roos gave themselves a chance at victory however they could not find the big buckets they needed down the stretch to get over the line as the Cats notched up their first win of the season.
