Danika Jolley, a former A Grade basketballer and referee with Basketball Mount Gambier, continues to achieve improved rankings in her refereeing career in Adelaide where she is undertaking tertiary studies.

Danika is successfully combining her studies with her passion and burning desire to join the elite ranks in the field of basketball refereeing. She is currently a leading member of the officials’ panel of the Basketball SA Premier League, officiating in the 2018 Winter season finals and the Australian Under 18 Basketball Championships in April of this year.

Danika is excited about her most recent appointment to the National Referee Development Program panel, a result of her hard work and commitment over several years. As a member of the NRDP panel, Danika will be nominated as a reserve official on WNBL games for the 2018/19 season and will be included on all WNBL communications for rosters, trends and league information. She will attend pre-game and post-game debriefs and will be called upon to take the court if a referee is injured during a game. it is also possible that Danika could be rostered onto WNBL games as part of her development.

This appointment also provides the opportunity for her to officiate in SEABL games in 2019, which could include a home game of the Pioneers.

Basketball Mount Gambier congratulates Danika on this achievement and appreciates her continued commitment to the local scene by umpiring in the domestic competitions, when home on holidays and the City of Mount Gambier Junior Tournament when the event does not clash with her study program.
