FAIRMONT HOMES GRASSROOTS INITIATIVE
Fairmont Homes are proud to introduce their GRASSROOTS Initiative; created to provide financial assistance to South Australian junior sporting clubs and help them reach their goals and objectives. To launch their GRASSROOTS Initiative, Fairmont are inviting junior sporting organisations from all over South Australia to apply for grants up to the value of $3,000. This will help support organisations to engage the communities around them. The initial grants will be available to junior clubs looking to buy new sporting equipment or uniforms, develop the skills of their participants and initiate long term strategies that help increase participation within their direct community. Applications are now open, and close at 11:00pm on Sunday, 4th April, 2021. The application process is quick and easy. Fairmont invites your junior sporting organisation to submit an application for their first round of funding by clicking the button below.

RETURN TO PLAY | COVID UPDATE FOR CLUBS
The SANFL Return to Play website has recently been updated with everything your club needs to know before Season 2021 kicks off. This includes a number of educational videos and training, as well as templates and posters to help you get the message out around your club. We’ve cherry-picked a few critical resources and tools below to make sure you’re continuing to meet Government mandated restrictions (such as QR Codes and COVID Marshals), as well as other Return to Play protocols:
Please also remember, that while we are currently very fortunate to have no community cases of COVID in SA, it is still a highly transmissible disease that can be easily spread if it gets into the community. This is why it’s critically important we continue to follow best practice health advice, including no sharing of drink bottles. We cover off on some tips to manage this in the Match Day Protocols Info Video. Thank you once again for the hard work and dedication in delivering COVIDSafe practices at your club.

GAMEDAY PHISHING SCAM WARNING
SANFL Community Football wishes to advise of a phishing scam email that has been branded ‘GameDay’. The above email was sent to a club in WA, purporting to be from GameDay requesting a copy of the Club administator's credit card. Please remain vigilant when reading emails and remember to never provide credit card details in response to requests such as this. Notably, the email above is from a @hotmail.com address, which is an easy way to determine the legitimacy of such requests.

NAB AFL AUSKICK – THE HOW AND WHY The NAB AFL Auskick program continues to be the best path into junior football for children aged 5-8 years old. The benefits of NAB AFL Auskick include
- For $100 (or FREE if the parents redeem a Sports Voucher), each participant receives a range of merchandise, membership & exclusive experience benefits
- Personal injury insurance coverage through Marsh Insurance
- Dedicated support from SANFL Game Development Team to align participant and coach skills development
- Identified pathways into community club football
- Clubs running a NAB AFL Auskick program also receive free equipment & part of the registration cost
SANFL is aware that some clubs intend to run their own junior programs that are not via an officially registered Auskick Centre. The AFL Australian Football Match Policy states that participants must be aged 7 in order to play competitive football. Children younger than 7 (aged 5-7) instead should be participating in a recognised NAB AFL Auskick Program. This is from:
- an insurance perspective
- to ensure the principles of fun and safety
- support the smooth transition to club football for children and parents
- and provide programs that are managed by the community utilising AFL developed procedures.
Any junior programs offered outside of Auskick for the 5-7 age group are not associated or affiliated with SANFL or the AFL. Clubs may also find themselves liable in the event of injury. Please contact SANFL Community Football if you need further advice regarding implementing NAB AFL Auskick at your Club.
