COVIDSafe Finals Update
Let's celebrate, but not get complacent
Footy clubs across the state have done an incredible job managing the COVID restrictions again this year. With many finals now being held across the state, we remind clubs and individuals of their responsibilities in running COVIDSafe match days and events.
The following restrictions impacting sporting clubs and licenced venues continue to apply at all times:
- Density of 1 person per 2sqm applies for all standing events (ie: football matches with spectators)
- Maximum of 1,000 patrons (unless the venue has an approved COVID Management Plan)
- QR Code/Manual Check In processes
- All food and drink must be consumed while seated
- Masks must be worn inside the licenced venue (unless patron is eating or drinking)
- Presence of COVID Marshals
SANFL has also created a FAQ document that provides guidance on the safe management of finals, including:
- Oval and Changeroom Access
- Guards of Honour, Banners & Club Songs
- Post-Match Presentations
- After Parties
We encourage you to regularly check out the wide range protocols and resources, including new posters for masks and seated consumption requirements at www.sanfl.com.au/returntoplay.
COVID MANANGEMENT PLAN EVENTS As you’re aware, any event which is likely to attract greater than 1,000 patrons must have an approved COVID Management Plan (CMP).
SANFL has developed a toolkit to support Clubs and Leagues in applying for their plan to host CMP events, which can be downloaded HERE.
Please note that with changes to restrictions, current plans and new applications for CMP events must now include the following protocols:
- Density of 1 person per 2sqm
- Masks MUST be worn by patrons when moving around the venue (ie: during entrance/exit, visiting food/drink sales points etc). Masks may be removed when the patron is seated or in a fixed standing position
- Masks MUST be work by patrons inside the licenced venue
- Acknowledgement and protocols that seated consumption is in effect
SANFL has updated its toolkit to include these changes.
Please note that existing CMP holders do not need to submit an amendment, they just need to abide by the above.
Feel free to contact jessica.wainwright@sanfl.com.au for support and/or clarification on COVID Management Plans or anything else COVID related.
