Telikom Titans coach Eddie Tamarua is oozing with confident knowing his side still has some gas left to turn around the One Day SP Super Series in their favour.
After round three Brian Bell lead the points table with 8 points followed by Steamships Hardware in second place on 6 points and Trukai Invincibles in third place with 5 points and Telikom Titans yet to register a win with three points in fourth place.
Titans remaining three games look this way, round 4 vs Trukai Invincibles (May 25), round 5 vs Brian Bell (June 1) and round 6 vs Steamships Hardware (June 8).
Following that will be the semi finals on June 15 and the finals and 3rd and 4th place play off on June 22.
The 45 year old Tamarua from Kila Kila village is determined to turn his three game losing streak into wins in the remaining three rounds of the series.
“I’m confident we can still get back into the series even though the odds have been against us.
“We need some experience hands in the team to give us that extra boost and a positive approach to our remaining three matches will really help us in winning our games.
“At the moment the only thing we are lacking is not focusing on batting out there long enough and fielding properly.
“If the batsman can score more than 180 runs plus than it’s a defendable target or if we are defending less than that than the bowlers have to bowl their full 10 overs and make sure they bowl properly.
“Following those three loses the team has gone through some counseling and also giving their views on what the problem is, some have even approached me after the game to let me know about where they want to bat on the batting order.
“I’m confident we can turn this around and every one of the team member is also positive about that but there’s still a lot of work to be done,” Tamarua said.
