BRIAN Bell captain Rarua Dikana will be banking on his rookies to use their first Twenty-20 match to fine due themselves for bigger things to come.
The side flittered with four veterans led by Dikana, Jamie Brazier, Kohu Dai, Peter Moide and Jamie Iga will be leading a pack of young bloods hungry for their first taste of representative victory against Steamship Hardware at the Amini Park at 10.30pm this Sunday.
Dikana has admitted that the Twenty-20 match will be new to most his players including himself.
âThe twenty-20 is pretty new to most of the guys including me, itâs a super version of the proper 50 overs one day matches, all squashed up in one and all skills and techniques of the game you throw out the window and hit anything that comes your way.
âWe all are looking forward to the first twenty-20 match it should be exciting at the same and should provide a good avenue for the young guys to build their confidence and experience on,â Dikana said.
Steamships Hardware coach Gavera Rarua also expressed the same sentiments saying the young guys in the team were really psyched up for the match.
Rarua side is relatively a young side with veteran Toka Gaudi, Rarua Ipi, Frank Joseph and their captain Chris Amini providing the solid foundation for the team to bank on.
Amini said the his side is ready to take on their much experienced Brian Bell side and was confident his got the players that get the job done.
