Help promote Basketball with Sporting Schools!

Help Promote Basketball at Your Children’s School.

Dear members you may have heard of the “Sporting Schools” program that is available to all Primary Schools. The program run by the Australian Sports Commission providing funding for students to access various sporting activities throughout the year.
“Sporting Schools” is Australia’s largest school-based sports participation program to help children foster a lifelong interest in sport. “Sporting Schools” brings together schools and sports to help get Aussie children active in their local communities.
“Sporting Schools” is open to all Australian primary schools, and with quality programs developed by over 30 national sporting organisations, it offers a fun and supportive environment for children and coaches

The Woodville District Basketball Club is a registered provider of the basketball program. We are very keen to promote the sport of basketball to as many schools as we can. Your assistance is sort to help us. As you can appreciate many others sports are also keen to be active in schools. Again as I am sure you know that often a personal approach helps to get things started. We are seeking your help by providing to the club the best contact person from your school in regard to Sports Coordination.

Sporting Schools is a program that runs across the whole school year. Term by term schools need to access a different program. Your schools sport coordinator will begin considering options early in Term 1. Please email the club with School Name / Contact Person’s Name and Contact Details. Many Thanks or see Kym Clark in person to pass on any details. By having a known contact at the school, hopefully will assist in WDBC being able to bring basketball to your children’s school. If you can also advise if the school has an indoor space or uncover area suitable for basketball activities would assist as well.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
