U14 Boys Melbourne Classics Journey

The under 14 division 1 boys travelled to Melbourne over the June long weekend for the Melbourne classics. This tournament requires qualification and is one the toughest tournaments in the country.

The team started slowly against tournament runner up Keilor who played at an extremely high level. This was an excellent learning curb and it didn’t take long for the team to catch on as they were then able to match the pace and intensity that the tournament required.

The next 5 games were either won or lost by a few points. The team lost a crucial game to Dandenong by 6 points which would have placed them in finals contention. Unfortunately they let this one slip, it was a very winnable game. Overall the boys finished 11th out of  16. The tournament was very tight as the winners Melbourne Tigers qualified for the finals by beating Dandenong by 4 points.

An excellent experience for the boys, teaching them to play at high level at all times, work together, and if they can do this good things will happen.

Congratulations to the boys, their coach and their families for an awesome weekend and we are very proud of your Warrior spirit!
