2019 Junior Country Championships wrap up

 

 

 

SA Country would like to thank all of the participating players, coaches, managers, referees and score bench officials for their support of the U14 & U18 Junior Country Championships held in Adelaide on 9th, 10th & 11th March and the U12 & U16 Junior Country Championships held in Adelaide on 23rd & 24th March, 2019.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of the Venue Supervisors Beth Serle, Cathy Warren, Sharon Venn, John Spooner, Nikki Ireland, Danny Millard, Matt Ryan, Tom Mitchell, James Brown, Jo Duncan and the SAC staff who managed venues for the weekend as well as the assistance provided to them by a great number of volunteers throughout the weekend.

We would also like to acknowledge the support of our sponsors; Sports Centre and Spalding.

Thank you also to the venues for their support through provision of canteen and barbecue facilities and to Sports Medicine Australia for the Sports Trainers as well as all the referees, referee coaches and referee supervisors.

Lastly and most importantly, thank you to the Associations and all families for their support of the events.

33 Divisions of competition saw the following;

  • 17 Associations won Championships with the following taking out multiple over the 4 Championships: Adelaide Plains (2), Barossa Valley (3), Eastern Hills (2), Kangaroo Island (3), Light (2), Mildura (3), Millicent (3), Mount Gambier (3), Port Lincoln (4), Riverland (3, Whyalla (2)
  • 24 Associations nominated teams
  • 227 teams competed

Congratulations to Olivia Bradley (Eastern Hills), Bianca Stasinowsky (Riverland) on being awarded the Sally-Jane Allen Memorial Trophy for MVP in the U16 Girls Division 1 competition.

Congratulations to Shontae Kartinyeri (Eastern Hills) on being awarded the Trish Flett Memorial Trophy for MVP in the U14 Girls Division 1 competition.

Congratulations to Mildura on winning the John Spooner trophy for most wins in the Division 1 minor round competition. The table below shows the top 10 Associations;
