A NOTE FROM VP BASKETBALL - TRIALS

We have just been through our trials process, and after 25 years of it I can make the following observations: -

• It is a stressful time for most players, and they worry about how they perform on the day.
• It’s perhaps more stressful for parents, hoping their child can perform and progress through the system.
• The trial days do not function without our coaches and volunteers.

In recent weeks a number of people have talked to me so positively about “the culture” at North Adelaide Basketball Club. I guess, in living within it, I take it for granted, but do know that we have a fantastic group of people within our Club, and our future is exciting.

Having both our Premier League teams make the finals, and the women’s team win the entire season undefeated, is a magnificent effort.

However, the Club has a huge number of juniors working through the system, which has involved trials for all age groups. Publicly, I wish to thank the following people, for their dedication during trials, together with the other work they do for the Club.

Trials were run by Kevin Rock, Barry Mansfield, Jason Smith and John Della Pia over the two weekends, and there will be follow-up camps to attend, to fine-tune our teams. Thank you gentlemen for your dedication to the Club and it’s players and working with them.

Administratively, I need to thank Elissa Inglis, Steve Varna and Susan Clegg for their long days in processing players and getting them on-court, with help from Steve Adams and Robert Zoanetti.

Without these volunteer hours, it’s very difficult for us to get teams sorted, so thank you!

If I have missed anyone, I apologise, but thank you.
