The North Adelaide Rockets Women have extended their winning streak to 3 after their 82-53 defeat over South Adelaide on Saturday night. Again veteran Jo Hill was the standout performer, finishing the game strong with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. The win on Saturday was a fantastic team effort by the Rockets women with 10 different players registering points on the board.

The Rockets took advantage of some fast break opportunities in the first quarter. The girls played a very fast paced game to begin with, trying to tire the Panthers early. However, South Adelaide were able to keep up, with teams trading baskets for the entirety of the first quarter. The Rockets entered the break with just a 2 point lead over the Panthers. The Rockets extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Panthers 26-17. The lead allowed coaches Brenton Johnston and John Della Pia to rotate through the entire team, with all 12 players hitting the floor throughout the game. 

During the second half, the Rockets women knew they needed to do something to try and slow down the Panthers experienced guards. The Rockets women varied their defence by playing a combination of traps, zone and man to man. The front court defensive pressure from the guards, combined with the communication from the forwards at the back of the trap allowed the Rockets to cause a number of turnovers which they were able to convert into easy baskets.

The Rockets women finished off the game strong, keeping the Panthers to just 9 points for the final quarter. The Rockets were able to take advantage of a tired team of Panthers as they continued to run the floor and attack the basket during fast break opportunities. The Rockets finished strong with a 20 point quarter, finishing off the game with a 29 point victory.

The women will be looking to extend their winning streak to 4 as they take on the Central District Lions on Saturday 11^th April at Starplex.
