Was born in 1922 and showed an aptitude for all sport from an early age. In 1937 was member of the Rarotonga schools team that played the touring team from Aitutaki
In late teens was top tennis player and in 1940 a highlight was when playing for Titikaveka partnered Rev John Tini and beat the Rarotonga champs Joe Browne and Charlie Carlson. During same period was top boxer for the Titikaveka boxing club and was
undefeated. This was in an era when Boxing was one of the main sports played in the Cook Islands. In late 1940s played fullback and was captain of Titikaveka A Grade team. Highlight was leading Titikaveka to round cup and knock out cup victories in 1950.
In late 1960s and early 1970s was President of Rarotonga Rugby Association. He also served as President of the Rarotonga Cricket Association. Was also a delegate to the Cook Islands Sports Association in this period.
Continued to be involved in cricket even after turning 50 and had the honour of captaining the Cook Islands Golden Oldies team to the International festival in 1984 in New Zealand
