ROUND NINETEEN: Woodville Warriors v Eastern Mavericks

WOMEN by Kieren Vartuli

Both sides are dancing twice this weekend as it is their turn for some back-to-back basketball! After the Mavericks play the Bearcats for the second time in 2 weeks, they may be fatigued but may still be able to overcome the Warriors. The last time these two sides met, the Mavericks blew them out by just under 30-points. It was the Basham and Tyson-Thomas show that weekend as they combined for 53 and in turn almost outscored their opponents alone. Aside from the scoreline, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Woodville as they kept up with the dominating Mavericks in the paint. Eastern scored 40-points in the paint while the Warriors served up 36 of their own. That being said, it will be a tough couple of games for the Warriors after falling to Centrals last week and facing two of the toughest sides in the competition in less than 24 hours.

Hang Time Prediction: Eastern Mavericks

MEN by Daniel Renfrey

The Warriors and Mavericks will both play back-to-back in Round 19, playing each other on Sunday. The Mavericks will want contributions across the board in this one, with players like Morris, Cherry and Mcgee all needing to contribute well on a back-to-back if they want to be successful. This will be the same for Woodville though, who will be looking for the same sort of widespread production they had from De Wit, Stanbridge, Meldrum and Nathan in Round 18. With both teams playing two in a row this weekend, the result of this one will be decided based on which side can bounce back more efficiently on the day having just played a game. While they struggled over the weekend, Eastern may have the players who can do this to a greater efficiency, and if Cherry, Morris and Mcgee all perform even near their best, their team should get the win.
