ROUND FIFTEEN: Woodville Warriors v South Adelaide Panthers

WOMEN by Kieren Vartuli

A bottom tier of the table clash is set for Saturday night at St Clair with the Warriors hosting the Panthers. The two sides have not met since Round 4 earlier this year and it was the Warriors who went home with a convincing 15-point victory. A poor 2nd and 3rd quarter for the Warriors handed the Eagles an 88-114 victory. The Warriors have shown signs of some strong basketball as the season has progressed, and the home court advantage will be important here. South Adelaide on the other hand fell to the Tigers by 11-points showing the difference between the bottom few sides and rosters above them. With the sides meeting over two months ago and both sides showing periods of potential as they earned their 8 combined wins, it could be anyone’s game but the cheers from the St Clair crowd, and their more-recent shows of resistance might get the Warriors over the line.

Hang Time Prediction: Woodville Warriors

MEN by Daniel Renfrey

The Warriors and Panthers are both well rested after missing Round 14 and will be fresh and ready to go at it in a game that could have ladder implications. With Woodville sitting just above the Panthers, there is no doubt they will want to get a win. Woodville’s style has been generally solid this season, with some good offensive movement and iso work. However, their defensive side has been lacking and has led to a lot of their losses. The Panthers haven’t exactly been deadly on offense though, which might work into Woodville’s hands. Allmon has been a consistent contributor to the scoring load for South, but he’ll need some more help if his team is to win this one. However, Woodville away is never an easy fixture, and the Warriors have shown more signs of being an all-around threat than the Panthers have, making it hard to bet against them.
