Dear Members,

As of today, March 13th, all Diamond Valley Basketball Association competitions and programs will be POSTPONED due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

All Junior Domestic, Senior Domestic, VJBL, Big V competitions and development programs are postponed UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This is based off Basketball Victoria's decision to suspend Basketball Victoria related programs, events and leagues as of this afternoon.

The DVBA will continue to update its members on the operations of Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria via our website and social media to ensure everyone is kept up to date.

The DVBA has not received any confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus from any of its members, the decision to suspend all games has been made by Basketball Victoria to ensure the health and wellbeing of all players, coaches, referees and staff are maintained.

The DVBA would like to thank you for your understanding at this time.

Diamond Valley Basketball continues to monitor the situation in regards to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and is taking steps to protect members, employees and guests against the spread of the virus in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Department of Health. We therefore ask you to ensure that you comply with the guidelines issued by our Health Authorities in order to protect our basketball and wider community and limit the spread of this virus.

If you have recently:

• travelled from or transited through a designated country (designated countries include the People’s Republic of China, Iran, Italy  and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). Other countries may be added in future days and weeks)
• Have been in contact with anyone confirmed to have contracted the Coronavirus
• Have been in contact with anyone suspected of having such symptoms in the last 14 days

You will be required to undertake a period of self-isolation (quarantine) for 14 days. If this condition applies to you, or anyone you know, you are requested to not attend any Diamond Valley Basketball Venues, Club Training Venues and (for any Diamond Valley Eagles) any other VJBL venue in any capacity (even as a spectator) until the applicable quarantine period has expired.

Given the uncertainty of the situation evolving in Melbourne, we would ask that all parents exercise common sense and your own best judgement. Please be especially mindful if you or your child/ren attend a school with a known outbreak.

At this point in time all Junior and Senior Domestic matches will be proceeding as scheduled.

For Diamond Valley Eagles players, coaches and parents, at this point in time VJBL matches are proceeding as scheduled and we will be guided by Basketball Victoria and the VJBL if anything changes.

How can I help prevent the spread of the virus?

Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence. The most important actions are:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water
• Cough and sneeze into your elbow
