The standout performance from Harbour players in the States in the past week came from Akienne-Tera Reed.

She made a massive contribution to Virginia Commonwealth’s double success against the two George’s. In the 67-60 victory against George Washington Tera nailed 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a season high 4 steals. VCU’s leading scorer followed that with 9 points and 8 rebounds in the 64-56 overtime win against George Mason.

VCU are 7-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference – third on the ladder.

Emme Shearer scored what proved to be the winning basket with under two minutes remaining as Portland beat St Mary’s College, California 69-68. Emme finished with a career high 16 points (7/12FG) as Portland completed the double over the Gaels

Portland slipped up in their second game of the round downed 69-62 by San Diego. Emme only made 3 points in that contest but did dish a career high 6 assists as well as securing 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Portland are 6-4 in West Coast Conference play – 4th place on the league table.

Against Portland Tayla Dalton corralled 3 rebounds for St Mary’s and then snared a season best 4 steals (plus 5 points) but St Mary’s suffered a 79-52 defeat at the hands of West Coast Conference leaders Gonzaga in their second defeat of the week.

Kruz Perrott-Hunt recorded a career high 16 points (3/4 3PG) as University of South Dakota registered an easy 91-59 home win against Omaha. South Dakota are unbeaten in the Summit League with an 8-0 record after completing the double over Omaha with a tighter 97-93 success – Kruz 10 points in game two.

Dallas Baptist are up to #11 in the NCAA Division II rankings but had to be content with sharing the spoils against Permain Basin. Having lost 99-97 in overtime on Friday they dominated Saturday’s fixture winning 91-74. Will Heather was prominent in both games totaling 28 points (13/19FG), 6 rebounds and 4 blocks during the two outings.

Also in Division II Tessa Talo-Tomokino almost filled the stats line in Northeastern State’s 68-61 loss to Missouri Southern. Tessa finished with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. 

Jazz Kailahi-Fulu posted her second double-double of the season and Keeley Tini her first as Williston State sunk Bismark State 68-55. The 2020 Harbour Breeze duo both scored 20 points with Keeley adding 11 rebounds, a steal and a block while Jazz had a prolific 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks outing. 

Hannah Wentworth averaged 11 points across the three wins Utah State University Eastern had last week.
