IT was meant to be one of the match ups of the year, but the hype around the top of the table clash between North Footscray and Yarraville was anticlimactic with the Devils running out 50-point winners.

Yarraville managed to pin back the margin to 29 at the major break, before another seven goals in the third quarter had North Footscray leading by an insurmountable 60-points at three quarter time.
A more even final term again showed glimpses of the Eagles’ potential this year, but they were simply outplayed by a better side.
Kieran Murphy was dynamic up forward with five goals, while Tyren Montebruno and Jason Butty combined with four each.
Reece Duffield and Sean Curtis lit the game alight for North Footscray, will Sam Crea also kicked three goals.
Jack Hargreaves kicked four for Yarraville-Seddon. Jacob Connors and Nick Tsaloukis were impressive for the Eagles.
Brandon Turner and James Farrugia kicked three goals each as Manor Lakes picked up an important win, downing West Footscray by 50-points, will Albanvale prevailed in a thriller against Newport Power.
The Cobras looked to have the game sealed at half-time, as they kept the Power goalless in the first quarter, and held a strong 38-point lead at the major break.
However the Power kept coming, and kept Albanvale goalless from thereon, but it wasn’t enough, as they fell three points short of a remarkable comeback.
This weekend both Yarraville-Seddon and Newport will by hungry for the win, as both lost disappointing games.
Meanwhile both Albanvale and Manor Lakes will be hoping to back up their win from the weekend and let the momentum carry them forward, while the Roosters will host the Devils at Shorten Reserve.
