Their opponents, the lowly Laverton had no answers as Tarneit led from start to finish, winning by 127-points.
Tarneit were wasteful in front of goal, kicking 20 goals 24, but they still had enough attacking options to put Laverton to the sword.

Parkside themselves had a relatively easy win over North Sunshine, accounting for the Roadrunners by 59-points.
It was a slow start by both sides, as only one goal was kicked in the first quarter, before Parkside worked out to 27-point lead at the half.
Unfortunately for North Sunshine, the floodgates opened after the main break, and they were outscored six goals to two.
Bradwell Dick was the lone hand up forward kicking all three majors for North Sunshine, while Colin Tornatore and Jason Cloke were the main contributors for Parkside, with three and two goals respectively.
The match of the round took place at Ainsworth Reserve as the Wynhdam Suns and Sunshine Heights played off in a ripper of a contest.
The two teams fought their hardest for four quarters, with no more than a couple of goals separating them for the majority of the day.
With early season momentum so crucial in determining finals chances, neither side would say die.
Sunshine Heights had the ascendancy after the first quarter, leading by 17-points before the margin was reduced to just a solitary point at half-time.
The Suns turned it on in the premiership quarter, kicking four goals to one to take 10-point lead into the final stanza.
Ultimately that third quarter would be the difference as the Suns held off Sunshine Heights for an impressive 20-point victory.
Sunshine Heights will go away from this match ruing missed opportunities, having kicked an inaccurate 11 goals and 20 behinds.
Craig Richards kicked five goals for the Suns, and Keelan Pritavera went to the lead in the league goalkicking table, booting six for Sunshine Heights.
Elsewhere, Braybrook had an important win over the Sharks, defeating them by 27-points. The Sharks remain winless in second last position, while Braybrook remain in finals contention sitting in fourth place.
