ALL WRFL clubs, supporters, officials and players have been urged by organisers of the Big Freeze Beanie 2 campaign to get behind the event and to raise funds to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
Presently, MND affects about 2000 Australians. The disease destroys nerve cells causing muscles to weaken and eventually die.
The Big Freeze 2 official beanie promotion is part of the Big Freeze at the G being held prior to the Melbourne v Collingwood Queen’s Birthday Clash on June 13.
Several of Australia’s well known footy personalities will be dunked into a giant ice pool to support the Freeze for MND Challenge, in a bid to raise funds for not-for-profit organisation, the Cure for MND Foundation.
Club members are encouraged to purchase the newly designed $20 blue beanie at the Cure for MND website, take a team photo and post it on the club website and use the MND social media hashtags #FreezeMND and #WalkingWithNeale.
