THE Western Region Football League’s Junior Interleague sides will kick-off their carnival campaign tonight.
The Youth Girls, Under-16, two Under-14 and two Under-13 teams will play their first round of matches of the 2016 AFL Victoria Metro Junior Championships.

The tournament will see all teams compete in a three-round competition, with the top two teams in Division 1 Pool A and Pool B playing off in Grand Finals.
The Under-15 Division 1, Under-15 Division 2 and Youth Girls Grand Finals will be played on June 25 and Under-14 Division 1 and Under- 14 Division 2 on Saturday July 2.
As a result of last year’s campaign the Western Region Football League has now been moved into Division 1.
The format sees whatever league that finishes on top of Pool A’s Under-14 Division 2 competition will be promoted to Division 1 for the following year in both Under-14 and Under-15 competitions.
This year the Youth Girls competition will change to a similar format as the boys in an effort to achieve more competitive matches between teams.
There will be two divisions of competition in the Youth Girls, with the top two teams in the Division 1 Pool playing off in a Grand Final.
