WESTERN Bulldogs star Jake Stringer was king of the kids at Shark Park on Wednesday night.
Stringer who is one of the most exciting players in the AFL spent time with the juniors from Sanctuary Lakes for Toyota’s Good For Footy event.
SEN conducted a live cross with Stringer and was also on hand to give out prizes to juniors.
The talented Bulldog took the kids for some footy drills, teaching the aspiring players how to snap a goal and take a pack mark.
The youngsters also got a chance to ask Stringer questions about his life as an AFL footballer, as well as take part in a special themed quiz.
Sanctuary Lakes Football Club president Danny Galea said it was great to have someone of Jake Stringer’s calibre visit the club.
“When Jake came through all the kids started walking to the fence and forgot about training,” he laughed.
“He definitely has an impact on the younger players.”
Galea said it was important for newly formed clubs to be active in their communities.
“One of the things you have to do when you are a new club is to keep promoting the club and what we are about and this is just one way of doing that,” he said.
“The other thing is that we have a good relationship with Werribee Toyota, when we first started they were one of the first to come on board with us and they have been with us ever since, so this is a good chance to help them back.”
