DESPITE losing captain and senior WRFL Interleague captain Macauley Goring to Yarraville Seddon, the Sunshine Football Club’s 2016 campaign promises to be full of excitement.
The club has added a talented group of players into the mix, with coach Brendan Hallinan saying his team has ‘loads of potential’.
Sunshine face Deer Park in the opening game of the season. There will be no bigger test of how they prepared for the season with a match against the reigning premiers.

Last season: Division 1 Seniors – 6th. Division 1 Reserves – Runners-Up.
Leading goal-kicker: Seniors - Lachlan Hutchesson – 25 goals. Reserves – Nicholas Triplett – 29 goals.

Key Ins: Daniel Castellano, Tom Black, Aaron Searle, Matt Stocco, Belal Abou-Eid and Hayden Moloney who is returning from injury.
Key Outs: Ben Mcinneny, Macauley Goring and Michael Clark.
Rising stars to watch: “Hamish Andrew has had a terrific pre-season and Luke Allan – he is very fit and looking to have a consistent year,” senior coach Brendan Hallinan.
How has the pre-season been: “Pre-season has been enjoyable,” Hallinan said.
“The fellas are easy to teach and want to do the best they can.”
Expectations this season: “We expect to be competitive week in and week out,” Hallinan said.
“We are a very young team with loads of potential, so we would like to see the improvement coming from our youngsters.
“The focus for us is about the process of improvement.”
