The Beach Wrestling Competition was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Long Island. There were 110 athletes from 8 states that took part in the competition. There were 33 females and 74 males that took part in the competition. Our youngest athlete was 7 years old and our oldest athlete was a male at 45 years old. The Beach Wrestling Competition was the most exciting event being held each year and the teams came out prepared to compete. Sonsorol State won the most gold medals with a total count of 8, then Ngatpang State with 4 gold medals and then both Ngaraard State and Hatahobei State tying in 3rd place for 3 gold a piece for each of their athletes. Overall, Sonsorol earned the most medals – 86; Koror – 15; Ngatpang – 10; Hatahobei – 9; Ngaraard – 4; Ngeschar – 4; Aimeliik – 2; and Peleliu -2.
Koror State won the most gold medals, with Sonsorol State placing 2nd and 3rd place went to Peleliu State. As the Tournament Director, I was able to submit the results and tournament evaluation form to PNOC. Sonsorol won the most medals – 23; Aimeliik- 19; Hatohobei – 18; Koror – 13; Ngeschar – 12; Ngaraard – 10; Ngatpang – 5; Ngarchelong-3; and Angaur – 1.
