Leahy, a 6-foot-6 versatile forward out of Brisbane, Australia, and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, averaged 14 points and eight rebounds for the PNG National Team during the 2015 Pacific Games in the nation's capital city and his hometown of Port Moresby. Leahy also lead his Ipswich Grammar School team with 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game as a senior.

He was also a member of the Under-20 Queensland Basketball squad and the Under-21 Ipswich Force team where he averaged 18, nine and four per game.

"Marty brings great experience, great size and strength, and he knows how to play the game," Stansbury said. "He can really shoot the basketball. On top of that, he's a terrific young man and an excellent student who is excited about the opportunity to be a Hilltopper."

A dual-sport athlete who also played volleyball, Leahy was a four-year letterman at Ipswich in Queensland for coach Michael Wellings. As a senior, Leahy picked up All-State and Team MVP honors to go along with trial camp appearances for the Under-17 and Under-19 Australian National Teams his sophomore and junior seasons. His final season was highlighted by a 43-point burst against Toowommba Grammar School where he also added nine rebounds, nine steals, five assists and four blocks.

"I'm really excited about the move to WKU," Leahy said. "It's been a goal of mine to play college basketball ever since I knew what it was, and to land at such a well-known basketball school is a dream come true. WKU has exceeded all of my expectations athletically and academically."

Leahy will join the Hilltoppers this summer and took home a positive review of his new city after his official visit.

"The town of Bowling Green is really nice - not too big and not too small - and the southern hospitality is very noticeable. I'm excited to begin summer training under Coach Stansbury and to play and learn with the new team as well as see what we can accomplish in the upcoming season."
