Bulls, Rams take Game One in FBL Division Finals

Contenders Ilocandia Bulls and Rams showed their might as they took Game One of their respective best of three championship series for the Division Finals of the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

The Ilocandia Bulls used the fourth quarter to wreck havoc in beating a much taller Surangel Stars, 108-97. The Bulls were trailing in most part of the game and was behind 79-78 going into the last quarter.

In the last canto the Bulls made sure of their ball possession as they outscored the Stars with a 30-18 out enough to take the win and a 1-0 lead in the series for the championship in Division A. RB Dorado led the scoring chores for the Bulls as he normed 37 points while teammates Raul Osias and Edward Baysa chipped in 23 and 17, respectively.

On the other hand, Arnold Undecimo topscored for Surangel Stars with 22 as wingman Rex de Asis had 18 markers in the losing end.

In Division B, the Rams surprised everyone as they fend off the Liquid Skyy Dragons, 95-93 to take a 1-0 advantage in the championship series in Division B. John Espiritu led the chores for the Rams with 19 as Ronald Reyes clipped 15.

Jun Bautista and Dovie de Jesus led the scoring spree for the Dragons with 27 and 25, in that order but were not enough to get the win.

Game Two of the Division Finals resume on May 4 at the same venue.
